Sr. HRIS Business Analyst (Payroll) : Full-time

Title: Sr. HRIS Business Analyst (Payroll)

Type: Full-time

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)

Location: Houston, TX

Essential Job Duties:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Workday Payroll, Absence Management, and Time Tracking. Use data, best practices, and system knowledge, to analyze complex ideas or proposals and proactively recommend improvement opportunities around the system, process, data, and user experience.
  • Assess the scope of incoming requests and determine the estimated timeframe needed to complete
  • Provide hands-on the configuration of Workday business processes, and other system changes to support end-to-end business processes in Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking
  • Support Payroll team in creating and/or modifying earnings and deduction codes, balance accumulators, time off plans, and other payroll-related configurations.
  • Assist with and/or manage documentation, including user guides, training materials, and release notes
  • Research, identify, and troubleshoot business process and/or system configuration errors; communicate resolution to process owners; maintain the integrity of business processes and organizational data through regular audit testing and validation
  • Lead and provide mentorship and guidance to HRIS Specialist to develop technical expertise
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources or a closely related discipline
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience supporting Workday through design, configuration, and implementation in Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking
  • Experience and knowledge in HCM, Recruiting, and Benefits preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, and ability to create, load, and troubleshoot EIBs, configure and modify business processes, configure and maintain earning codes, time off plans, build and modify custom Workday reports and calculated fields
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex business and technical topics to a wide array of audiences with and without Workday technical knowledge
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of human resources and employee lifecycle changes preferred

Software Requirements:

  • Workday Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking Certification preferred
